Mit dem Übergang zu einem Technologiekonzern konnte ich plötzlich perfekt Englisch. Nie habe ich verbotene Übersetzungsdienste von Google oder Microsoft genutzt, sondern – wenn überhaupt – nur den internen Übersetzer, der eine für Moss leicht zu merkende Adresse hat:

Leider steht mir dieser tolle Übersetzer nicht für private Übersetzungen zur Verfügung. Da bin ich froh, Deepl gefunden zu haben. Denn auch wenn die Übersetzer von Google oder Microsoft Fortschritte machen und die Übersetzungen immer weniger zur Erheiterung beitragen bleiben die Übersetzungen oft holperig.
Es ist faszinierend, wie viel besser Deepl seine Aufgabe im Vergleich zu den Giganten Google und Microsoft erfüllt!
Manchmal würde ich in der Übersetzung dann das ein oder andere Wort gegen etwas für mich stimmigere ersetzen. Während man bei Google immerhin ganze Sätze der Übersetzung anpassen kann, geht bei Microsoft nix.
Deepl glänzt da mit einer Funktion, die so wertvoll wie intuitiv ist: Man klickt einfach ein Wort in der Übersetzung an und bekommt eine Liste alternativer Worte. Wählt man eines aus, wird der Satz drumherum passend gemacht.
Gerade diese Zusatzfunktion mit den Synonymen finde ich nicht nur für die aktuelle Übersetzung gut, sondern auch für die eigenen Sprachkenntnisse.

Deepl shines with a function that is as valuable as it is intuitive: You simply click on a word in the translation and get a list of alternative words. If you select one, the phrase around it is made to fit.
It is precisely this additional function with synonyms that I find not only good for the current translation, but also for my own language skills.
